This is a specific example in that it describes how to add a subquery to a query using an example of a sample query that you can formulate using the predefined categories and properties that are already predefined and shipped together with your SMW+ installation.
- Go to the special page Special:QueryInterface or if you are using the WYSIWYG editor, click on the Query interface button in the WYSIWYG toolbar -this button has a small question mark and a small arrow and is located on the lower right section of the WYSIWYG editor toolbar.Proceed to define your query
- Click on the Add Category menu and add the Category as: Project
- Press Add
- Click on the Add Property menu and add Property as: Project member
- Activate the Show in results checkbox.
- Add restriction as subquery by activating the Subquery checkbox.
- Click Add or Update - this opens up an empty Query definition window which lets you define your subquery. Proceed to define your subquery.
- Click on the Add Property menu again and add property as: Birth date.
- Activate the Specific value checkbox under Restriction
- Set Property value as: greater(>=)15 July 1972
- Click Add - you should now see your query's result in the Result section and its tree in the Query as tree section
