The #show parser function which enables you to easily query for annotations of an instance, would have been appropriate for that purpose were it not for this one major issue - the #show parser function always displays the state of the instance before the last edit of the instance.
For example, if an instance contains the annotation [[Has title::Title]] and if one now edits that article and changes the annotation to [[Has title::New title]], then the result of the #show parser function in the saved article is still Title until someone refreshes or edits the article again.
The Automatic Semantic Forms extension therefore introduced the #shownow parser function, which immediately displays the current annotation values even when they have been edited.
The syntax of the new #shownow parser function is shown below:
